As a freehold small family run bar and restaurant, we cater to our customers needs we serve traditional English Food all sourced locally wherever possible There is always a selection of vegetarian options and we take great care with food allergies and special diets in a relaxed atmosphere.
The Golden Fleece offers a welcoming Restaurant in South Chard, Somerset. Closed as a pub in the late 1990’ s the Golden Fleece was given a new lease of life in 2001 where it was transformed into a welcoming restaurant and bar.
Carol, Paul, Kelly and Zak Bloomfield who took over in 2003 have continued the business as a traditional restaurant serving home cooked food in a friendly atmosphere.
The family have been assisted by Janet and Sue who have been involved in the restaurant for a number of years (pre-dating the current owners) and whose experience has been vital in ensuring success. Along the way Carol and Paul have also picked up Jenna an excellent cook and local hands also Clair and Martin who assist in the kitchen and waitressing.
The restaurant can seat up to 40 people on an average night, and it is advisable especially at weekends to book. Larger functions are also welcome.
During the Summer months we have the outside patio area where food can be served.
Well behaved dogs are welcome.
